200 FBI officers spread out and busted a family-run meth trafficking ring in San Jose. The ring is believed to sell meth from San Fransisco to Gilroy.
Authorities believe that the ring was responsible for at least 20 pounds of meth hitting the streets each month. That amount is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, particularly if it was pure and capable of being mixed with other things.
Ten of the fourteen people indicted were from San Jose. The authorities seized $45,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and 2.5 pounds of meth from houses in San Fransisco, San Jose, and Gilroy. Many of the people involved were relatives.
All suspects face federal drug distribution charges, many of which carry life sentences, if they are convicted and get the maximum.
