Charges have been dropped in a shooting murder due to a ”recanting witness and witnesses.” Thomas Pool, 41, had been charged with first degree murder after the shooting death of a Kansas man in April.
The release of charges notes that the decision for dismissal occured after an “extensive consultation with the primary law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.”
Cooper was shot on April 8th, after answering the door of his home. Pool was arrested shortly after and charged with premeditated murder which is punishable by a sentence of up to life in prison. The case was dismissed without prejudice, however, so the charges can be re-filed at any time.
