Authorities in Aruba have dropped the charges against three men in connection to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The charges were dropped for reasons of insufficient evidence. The men have always maintained their innocence.
Natalee, an Alabama native, has not been seen since May of 2005 when she was at nightclub with the three men. She was in Aruba along with many other classmates to celebrate their recent graduation from high school. Her disappearance was first noted when she failed to show up for her flight home.
The Court of Appeal ruled that there was insufficient evidence to show that Natalee died as a result of a violent crime. The prosecutor’s office said that if the case was to be tried in court, he would expect an acquittal of all 3 men based on the current evidence.
